Meet Our Pastor

Rev. Patrick Murphy

Rev. Patrick Murphy is originally from Elizabethtown, NC down in Bladen County, and his wife, Brittany, is from Coats, NC in Harnett County. So they both did their growing up in primarily rural areas. They both attended Methodist University in Fayetteville, and following Patrick's graduation, he attended Duke Divinity School for his seminary studies and Brittany, following her graduation, attended Elon University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

They are both avid sports fans. Basketball season gets really interesting in their home, with Patrick being a lifelong Duke fan and Brittany a lifelong UNC fan. Despite the rivalry, they both share a deep love of sports, everything from college basketball to baseball (Atlanta Braves!) to football (Panthers!) to golf. Patrick derives much joy from music, and has played guitar for going on seventeen years when he began his ministry at KUMC.  He also enjoys reading, cooking, and being outdoors. Brittany finds joy in creating things, baking, reading, and exploring new places.

They both have had the opportunity to be in ministry in various places around the world to discover new people, plights, and circumstances, that, by God’s grace, that have enlarged our hearts and deepened us as disciples. Together, and separately, they have been to The Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Guatemala, Romania, and Mexico. They have been fortunate to have met Jesus in the lives of so many others.

In August of 2019, they welcomed their son, Finley, into the world. Learning to be parents has been their most rewarding experience with perhaps the steepest learning curve of anything they have ever done. Currently, Finley enjoys being social with people of all ages, big trucks (go figure!), and doodling.
