MERCI Mission & Ministry Resource Center

 

The MERCI Mission Center, located in Goldsboro, NC, is an outreach program of the North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church.  Following the devastation of Hurricane Floyd in 1999, the Conference made a commitment to help people in need living in Eastern North Carolina and the MERCI Mission Center was born.  Since its inception, the mission of MERCI has grown and now includes:  

 

  • Disaster Ministries:  training & preparedness workshops, early response coordination, and long-term recovery coordination
  • Mission Support:  receive, sort, and distribute supplies for local, national, and international mission projects
  • Coordinating area volunteers:  organize teams for local and remote projects, provide logistical support 

Members of KUMC regularly volunteer at MERCI to assist with a variety of projects from packaging goods for distribution from the warehouse to completing local building projects for area residents in need.
